System Engineer

Cantey Technology provides South Carolina’s most responsive and professional IT support. We handle our clients IT so they can focus on running their business, law firm, or medical practice.
We do all sorts of things from designing networks to providing ongoing maintenance; we are the company that our clients call for everything from pc support to hosted solutions. Some clients want to push the envelope with new technologies and some want to keep costs to a minimum. We are onsite approximately 70% of the time and provide remote support for 30% of the time. We typically work around 45 hours per week.
We are looking for great people who are excited about technology and enjoy dealing directly with clients, people who are as comfortable in the data center as they are crawling under a desk to fix a PC issue. We’re fanatics about client service, we run a responsive and professional operation, and we love what we do. We’re not looking for part time contractors or people who can’t handle IT issues independently. We are looking to build our team with full-time consultants who continue to learn about the latest technology and want to contribute to our team. BASIC SKILLS:
- Outstanding client facing communications and troubleshooting skills
- Project management experience
- Detail orientation and be self motivated to do documentation
- Able to handle a high pressure environment
- Able to operate standard office equipment and a vehicle
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- 6 or more years experience in Microsoft network and Server technologies (2003 & 2008 SBS, Standard, Active directory) SQL, Sharepoint
- Windows Terminal Services – maintenance, setup, configuration, policies
- Microsoft Exchange 2003 (2007 a plus) including wireless Activesync
- Cisco switching, routing, VPN, and VOIP
- Managing, configuring, and setting up firewalls
- Unified communication solutions
- Experience setting up and managing Symantec Backup Exec & Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Experience with case management software
- Virtualization (VMware, MS Virtual Server)
APPLICATION HOSTING
- Experience with Managed Services
- Ability to configure and manage enterprise wide security products including Antivirus, Antispyware, and Antispam tools.
- Strong TCP/IP skills including DNS, DHCP, and VPN configuration.
